Description
Geological Origin & Formation
These dice are carved from green banded onyx, a type of calcite (calcium carbonate) formed in hydrothermal environments. Over time, mineral-rich water deposits calcium carbonate in layers, creating the characteristic bands of green and other earthy tones. Trace amounts of iron give the green hues, while the layered formation results in a semi-translucent, durable stone. With a Mohs hardness of 6.5–7, this material is ideal for carving and polishing into smooth, elegant dice.
Metaphysical & Energetic Qualities (Non-Medical)
In metaphysical and crystal enthusiast circles, onyx is appreciated for its grounding and protective symbolism. Green onyx is associated with balance, emotional stability, and harmony. While these qualities are symbolic rather than scientifically proven, many collectors enjoy the calming and inspiring energy the stone is believed to bring to a space.
Collector Appeal & Display
Beyond gaming, these dice are collector-worthy. Each piece is unique, displaying natural variations in banding and coloration. Their polished surfaces and organic patterns make them perfect for display in homes, offices, or personal crystal collections.
